As a fan of the various iterations of the ‘Batman’ film franchise, the easiest way to quickly figure out the tone of the film you’re watching is to see how the director treats the superhero’s car, the Batmobile. Tim Burton’s Batmobile is sleek, dark, and stylish. Joel Schumacher added neon to his superhero vehicle, making it almost cartoonish. Christopher Nolan brought realism to his Batmobile, making it more of a tank-inspired combat vehicle.

Christine Chubbuck’s death has become a source of internet theories, memes, debate and even scholarly analysis. The story itself is maddeningly fascinating. Earlier this year saw the release of the meta-movie “Kate Plays Christine” which is as much about the nature of telling Chubbuck’s story as the events leading up to her on-air suicide. But Antonio Campos (“Afterschool,” “Simon Killer“) is telling Chubbuck’s story from beginning to end with “Christine,” which is riding into the fall season following some big buzz at Sundance Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival.
