This writer hopes not, having always found in her a really relatable role model — I mean, if a supermodel can rise from her lowly beginnings as heiress to a tire manufacturing fortune, daughter of a concert pianist and either an industrialist/composer or a Brazilian grocery magnate/classical guitarist, to become a singer/songwriter, actress, and, oh yes, the First Lady of France, then surely, so can we all.

First Look At Carla Bruni-Sarkozy’s Cameo In Woody Allen’s ‘Midnight In Paris’

You would think it would be easy — walk into a grocery store, buy a baguette and leave — but for the first lady of France, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, making a non-speaking cameo in Woody Allen’s forthcoming “Midnight In Paris” it apparently took 35 takes to get it right (though bear in mind, that figure is probably exaggerated as the European press wastes no time taking shots at Bruni-Sarkozy).

The Daily Mail reports that Bruni held up the usually fast moving shooting method of Woody Allen, but at least it gave paparazzi plenty of opportunity to take pics of her work on the set alongside Owen Wilson.

Details & Cast Revealed For Woody Allen’s Summer Project ‘Midnight In Paris’; Michael Sheen & Kathy Bates Join Film

Woody Allen’s “Untitled Summer Project” now has a title and even some plot details. In a press release today, it was revealed that Kathy Bates, Michael Sheen, Nina Arianda, Tom Hiddleston, Corey Stoll, Mimi Kennedy and Kurt Fuller have joined the previously announced Owen Wilson, Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy in Allen’s forthcoming romantic comedy.

Titled “Midnight In Paris,” the film will follow “a family travelling to the city for business, including a young engaged couple that has their lives transformed throughout the journey.” The press release goes on to say that the film, “celebrates a young man’s great love for Paris, and simultaneously explores the illusion people have that a life different from their own is better.” This is all right in Allen’s familiar wheelhouse and sounds not unlike a Parisian update on “Manhattan.” We’re going to take a guess that Wilson and McAdams will play the young engaged couple and that’s just fine by us.

Woody Allen Says Carla Bruni Is ‘Far From Certain’ For His Next Film

Last fall, it seemed close to a certainty that French first lady Carla Bruni would appear in Woody Allen’s next film, set to shoot this summer in Paris. Word back then was that Allen had offered her the role in the middle of 2009, and Bruni later told Canal Plus television that she had accepted the part.

Well, with the summer looming, it appears Allen has gotten cold feet about casting Bruni. Speaking on Swiss television this week, the director said “Carla Bruni is not a woman who earns her living as an actress.

Rachel McAdams Set To Join Woody Allen’s Untitled Paris Film

If Owen Wilson wasn’t such a nice guy, we’d hate his guts right now.

The actor will now be joined by the beautiful and talented Rachel McAdams for Woody Allen’s still untitled Paris-set film which already has the equally talented and beautiful, recently announced Marion Cotillard and French first-lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy attached to star.

Little is known about the film thus far but early reports have described it simply as a “romantic drama.” In true Allen fashion but, it’ll surely explore the relationships and romantic entanglements of its protagonists.

Marion Cotillard Joins The Cast of Woody Allen’s Paris-Set Next Romantic Drama

We’ve known as far back as June of last year, that following his London based romantic drama, “You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger,” Woody Allen would be shooting his next film in Paris (he’s basically done with the U.S., European film fat cats are more than happy to finance his film productions).

In November, singer/former model, current First Lady of France, Carla Bruni, was confirmed to be part of the cast. And more recently, the film has finally started to take shape.

In the second half of Woody Allen’s career, he’s chosen largely to say behind the camera (he last appeared on screen in 2006’s “Scoop”) and he’s turned to a variety of leading men as his ostensible stand in with varying degrees of success. Jason Biggs (no), Kenneth Branagh (passable) and Will Ferrell (surprisingly good) have all handled the neurotic centerpiece role at various times, but is Owen Wilson the latest to get the gig?

The Hollywood Reporter has announced that the actor has been attached to Allen’s untitled Paris film, which will shoot this summer.

Carla Bruni Confirms Role In Woody Allen’s Untitled Paris Film

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, former model, singer, songwriter and current hottest first lady of France (and perhaps of all time), has revealed that Woody Allen offered her a role in his next film, a Paris based romantic drama. Allen first met Bruni way back in June when he met the first couple at the Elysee Palace (you can see official pictures of the meeting – sans Bruni – on Sarkozy’s Facebook page). Seemingly impressed with her then, he followed up with another meeting in which he offered a role.

French First Lady To Star In Woody Allen’s 2010 Paris Project, Marion Cotillard And Penelope Cruz Revealed As Oscar Contenders From ‘Nine’?

– France’s first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy has reportedly agreed to star in Woody Allen’s Paris-set project due to film in the summer of 2010. Allen had expressed interest in casting the actress/musician and had previously discussed with the press the prospect of asking her to join.

– Two test screening reports have revealed the scope of performances in Rob Marshall’s “Nine.” Marion Cotillard and Penelope Cruz were reported as having the best Oscar chances as Cruz apparently has the “meatiest role of anyone in the film and milks it for all its worth” while Cotillard plays “the most sympathetic role” and is “the character you care about and the one people will likely remember.” Kate Hudson, Judi Dench, Sarah “Fergie” Ferguson, Sofia Loren and Nicole Kidman all received mixed reviews and were noted to have smaller roles.
