While at the multiplex Liam Neeson settles any hostage situation with some well chosen one-liners and his special set of skills in the “Taken” movies, real life is obviously much different. Negotiating with people who have no qualms about taking a life, and meeting their demands to save those who are at stake is a psychological and emotional minefield, and audiences will take a close look at that process in the upcoming Netflix docuseries “Captive.”

Produced by Simon Chinn (“Man on Wire,” “Searching for Sugar Man“) and Doug Liman (“The Bourne Identity“), the series will travel the globe, telling what look to be thrilling stories about hostage situations from those intimately involved.
