The modestly budgeted film, about four women in a book club whose reading of “Fifty Shades Of Grey” becomes a life-changing experience, made over $100 million at the box office. Of course, in Hollywoodland, that’s grounds for a sequel, and that’s exactly what director Bill Holderman has cooked up.

So, Paramount Pictures has a little piece of counter-programming called “Book Club,” which should keep the young people away based on its title alone.

Nothing in this trailer for “Home Again” makes any sense (or is remotely funny or romantic), and yet somehow it got made.

Reese Witherspoon goes back to formula filmmaking in the debut from Nancy Meyers‘ (“Something’s Gotta Give,” “It’s Complicated,” “The Holiday“) daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer about a woman who turns 40, and somehow winds up with three, young, hunky directors living under her roof.

The HBO series is going go down as one of the best things hit the small screen in 2017, but it seems that Witherspoon’s sense of adventurous and willingness to try something new doesn’t extend to the big screen.

And while Beatty has refuted the notion that “Rules Don’t Apply” is a film about Hughes specifically — a disclaimer opens the film making it clear that facts and dates are loosely adhered to — that’s not entirely true, and trying to contain the famed eccentric is one of the issues the enjoyable, sprawling picture attempts to overcome.

He’s simply decided to focus on his family, stay out of the spotlight, and somewhere along the way, write and direct a new film. “Rules Don’t Apply” marks Beatty’s return not just behind the camera, but in front of it too, and his legendary status has enabled him to round up a huge ensemble for the effort.

So at 2:30 PM EST today, the iconic writer/director will take part in a Reddit AMA. But first, here’s a more traditional promo with the new trailer for “Rules Don’t Apply.”

Led by Alden Ehrenreich and Lily Collins, with Beatty as Howard Hughes, and a rich supporting cast behind the trio including Alec Baldwin, Annette Bening, Haley Bennett, Candice Bergen, Matthew Broderick, Dabney Coleman, Steve Coogan, Taissa Farmiga, Ed Harris, Megan Hilty, Oliver Platt and Martin Sheen, the movie follows a young woman into Hollywood where she comes under the wing of the reclusive tycoon.
