But that milestone didn’t fall during any year; it fell in 2020, a year in which the film’s prediction of a world crippled by a terrifying pandemic, of deadly airborne viruses, hazmat suits, and quarantines, so yes, you could say it lands with a bit more force.

The script, by David and Janet Peoples (the former also co-wrote “Blade Runner,” which plays in a similar key), was inspired by Chris Marker’s short film “La Jetée” – and it’s a thick, dense text, but one in which exposition and information are doled out piecemeal, on a need-to-know basis.

The picture showed the culmination of months of preparation for his role in Marvel Studios’ upcoming “Eternals” and, once again, proved that Marvel Studios probably has the best fitness bootcamp on the planet. But muscles aren’t all that’s required to be a successful superhero on the big screen.

Just ask “American History X” director Tony Kaye, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige or “Rounders” director John Dahl. The Golden Globe-winning actor apparently has a predilection for demanding creative control of his characters, their script and their scenes, occasionally to the detriment of his working relationships.

The beginning of Shyamalan’s superhero trilogy (and yes, they do bring up the time gap), “Unbreakable” is oft-forgotten among the famed director’s early works. But, with the forthcoming “Glass” riding on the coattails of 2016’s surprise hit “Split,” the Screen Junkies thought it best to remind us where it all started, and give their own hilarious tribute to Shyamalan at the same time.

Jackson is the highest grossing actor of all time; having appeared in a number of hugely successful franchises, from the “Star Wars” prequels and “The Incredibles” to “Jurassic Park” and most of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. All told, it’s pretty easy to see how the films Jackson appeared in have grossed more than five and a half billion dollars.

According to Deadline, Bruce Willis has signed on to star in a film titled “10 Minutes Gone.” In the film, a man loses 10 minutes of his memory after being hit by a stray bullet during a failed bank heist.

Having Bruce Willis’ John McClane back in the ‘70s doing his ‘Die Hard’ thing just isn’t very interesting and is the antithesis of the franchise. The entire selling point on the first, and absolutely classic, “Die Hard” is the idea that McClane is in way over his head and is the quintessential “everyman.”

But that hasn’t deterred filmmaker Len Wiseman, who is still working on the script for the upcoming ‘Year One.’ And in a new interview with Slash Film, he discusses what the structure of the film will be, plus just how they’ll decide who to cast as the young John McClane.

Night Shyamalan would be connected? Yeah, us either. Welcome to “Glass,” the long-awaited sequel to Shyamalan’s “Split” and 2000’s sleeper hit “Unbreakable.”

While David Dunn from “Unbreakable” may not be the next Captain America, Shyamalan seems to be following up on creating his own indie-horror cinematic universe with his version of a superhero.

You have “Miracle on 34th Street,” “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “A Christmas Story,” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.” And yes, you can absolutely add Bruce Willis‘ classic action film “Die Hard” to the list, as well. While Santa doesn’t make an appearance himself, there is no mistaking the film as anything less than a holiday film.

Given his background of grindhouse throwbacks of the ’70s and ’80s, you would expect his version of “Death Wish” — a remake of the 1974 Michael Winner film starring Charles Bronson — to be a straightforward exploitation film shot on 16mm, blown up to 35mm, and grimy as all hell.
