….it’s an educated guess at best. In an interview with NME, the former Blur guitarist revealed he’s currently at work on a soundtrack album for a forthcoming Brit “freak thriller” that’s coming out “relatively soon”. Of course, the cheeky bastard declined to name the film so we’re going to start the speculative ball rolling.

Graham Coxon says the album will sound like “Pink Floyd with fangs” and goes on to say that:

“They [film producers] gave me some themes to play with, famous old nursery rhymes and folk songs that I wanted to muck about with.

God, poor Mark Pellington, the director of “Henry Poole Is Here. The former video director – Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy;” famous clips for NIN, Foo Fighters, The Flaming Lips; filmmaker behind “U2 3D” – lost his wife suddenly and tragically in a car accident four years ago and had to raise their 2 1/2-year-old daughter on his own.

Obviously the guy went through hell and back to make it through such devastation, so when you’re reading the press notes of ‘Henry Poole’ is here before the movie starts and being informed of all this tragedy, you can’t help but feel for the guy, side with him and understand his motivations to make a film rooted in touching and spiritual themes of life, death, love, loss, etc., even if those sentiments can be rather cliche.

So last night we finally saw the legendary surrealist classic, “Last Year At Marienbad,” at New York’s Film Forum. The glacially-paced, chilly, and hypnotically opaque (not to mention lavishly stylish) abstraction is not for the impatient at heart. We dragged our roommate to the film and she was so peeved (and praying-for-death) by its slow-moving ellipticalness and absence of narrative, she demanded we at least get some sort of blog post out of it. So here we are.
