Don Cheadle is one of the longest-running veterans of the MCU. First appearing all the way back in “Iron Man 2,” Cheadle’s Rhodey has been one of the foundational stars of the cinematic universe. That’s why it wasn’t shocking to see Marvel Studios wanting to give him his own thing with “Armor Wars.” However, since it was announced that “Armor Wars” was being changed from a TV series to a feature film, we haven’t heard much about the development of the project.

Jimmy Fallon addressed rumors that Rockwell will reprise his “Iron Man 2” character Justin Hammer during the actor’s interview on “The Tonight Show” last night. And while Rockwell couldn’t confirm anything, he said he’s “in” if Marvel Studios wants him back.

While Marvel Studios is a collective of passionate producers and executives, studio head Kevin Feige inevitably becomes the face of its many successes. However, there are many high-level executives of production and development, like Nate Moore, a producer on the “Captain America” and “Black Panther” franchises, that have been integral lieutenants to the company. Moore is part of what is known as The Parliament at Marvel, the elite group of execs who are ultimately responsible for all the big decisions alongside Feige.

There’s been a shake-up in the Marvel Universe, but all things considered, it’s a pretty great one for Don Cheadle. The actor’s Marvel/Disney+ series, “Armor Wars,” is changing and is now being developed as a feature film. It’s hard to see that as anything else as an upgrade if your Don Cheadle or Cheadle’s reps. Marvel’s Disney+ series was supposed to be for supporting characters that didn’t really get their due and might be better suited to a character-driven limited series format.

Say what you will about “Eternals.” Depending on which side of the discourse you fall on (because, as we know, there are always only two sides), the film is either a nice change of pace for Marvel Studios, showing a more mature, emotional story, or it’s the worst catastrophe in the MCU since “Thor: The Dark World” and Chloe Zhao is clearly a terrible filmmaker.

Marvel Studios has long toyed with the idea of solo movies for supporting characters, but most of those ideas migrated to limited series for television on Disney+. “Hawkeye” is one of those coming in November, and another one announced in December is “Armor Wars,” a vehicle for Don Cheadle’s War Machine character. In the classic “Iron Man” storyline from the comic books, Tony Stark’s technology falls into the hands of some really nasty people leading to him tracking down multiple armored villains (Crimson Dynamo and Titanium Man are good candidates).

At the end of “Avengers: Endgame,” it was shown that Tony Stark, aka Iron Man, died saving the universe with the snap of his fingers. But the hero did leave behind his wife, Pepper Potts, and their young daughter. And as with everything in the MCU, it is assumed that Gwyneth Paltrow, who has been playing Potts for more than a decade, would be able to return at some point, if needed.

The upcoming “She-Hulk” series directed by Kat Coiro had casting confirmations made by Kevin Feige tonight at the Disney Investors Day. Emmy-winning actress Tatiana Maslany will be playing Bruce Banner’s cousin Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk, in the Disney+ along returning MCU actors Mark Ruffalo and Tim Roth. The latter plays the villainous Abomination from Louis Lettier’s “The Incredible Hulk” that starred Ed Norton as Bruce Banner.
