Hollywood marketing is fairly predictable. You start with a movie or a TV series. About 6 months out, you release a teaser (normally, about a minute or so in length). Then about a month or two later, you release a full trailer. Then come the TV ads, shorter clips, and the other bits and pieces that arrive in the three weeks or so before the release date. But Netflix laughs in the face of conventional marketing.

Outside of the film “Arrival,” whenever alien life makes contact with humanity, it’s never a good thing. And sometimes, it’s not even the first contact with aliens that leads to issues. Sometimes, it just takes a mysterious artifact landing on Earth that could send humans into a tailspin. Apparently, that’s all it takes on the new series “Another Life.”

As seen in the new trailer for “Another Life,” humans have sent a group of astronauts into deep space to investigate the location of alien life after an artifact of unknown origins lands on our planet.

After a positively stellar few months of new shows wowing viewers and acquiring new fans, June was a bit of decline in terms of sheer output. Shows such as “Big Little Lies” and “Pose” made their returns, much to the delight of fans, but otherwise, it was a quiet kick off to summer. And as we move into July, the outlook doesn’t seem to change much.
