Well, except for the fact that zombies don’t exist. But hey, 2020 is only half-way through, so we can’t rule out anything at this point. But just because Rick Grimes and the characters of “The Walking Dead” have survived their pandemic doesn’t mean the real-life folks behind the scenes are able to keep filming.

First up, it’s the announcement that the still-untitled “The Walking Dead” movie, presumed to be a TV-only movie on AMC, will actually be a theatrical-only experience.

If you’ve been an avid watcher of “The Walking Dead” for its entire almost-decade-long run, then you have to know by now that AMC loves to trick viewers. With its latest “Rick Grimes is leaving the show!” promotion, it was clear that the network had something up its sleeve. And boy, oh boy, did AMC have something planned that would not only keep Rick around for years to come but just add yet another wrinkle to the ‘TWD’ universe.

It’s a sad state of affairs for “The Walking Dead” that news of the lead actor leaving the show isn’t the top headline everywhere. If Andrew Lincoln left the series 5 years ago, you better believe that the story would be the most talked-about thing on the Internet. Instead, it’s met with, “Oh wait, that’s still a thing?”

Collider is reporting that “The Walking Dead” lead actor Andrew Lincoln is leaving the show after the upcoming Season 9.
