Earlier this week, Disney+ confirmed “Andor” will return for Season 2 on April 22, 2025.  Then subscribers got their first look (albeit a brief one) at the new season in a Disney+ 2025 sizzle reel a day later.   Not a bad week for “Star Wars” fans, right?

Earlier this year, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” and “Star Wars: Andor” fans received some unfortunate news. Ben Mendelson said, or at least suggested, that he would not be returning as the Imperial Director Orson Krennic in Tony Gilroy’s “Andor,” the architect of the Death Star.

“As for being contacted by Lucasfilm for a new project, I can tell you that no, I have not been approached for something like this,” he said around the time “Andor” season two was already well into production, leading many to presume it wasn’t happening.

Andy Serkis has a strange relationship with the “Star Wars” franchise. Originally, he was brought on to play the voice and motion capture for the new big-bad of the film franchise, Snoke. But he was given new life as a completely new character in the recent “Star Wars” series, “Andor.” There, he became a fan-favorite, but his character was only meant to be part of a few episodes of the show.
