Hollywood marketing is fairly predictable. You start with a movie or a TV series. About 6 months out, you release a teaser (normally, about a minute or so in length). Then about a month or two later, you release a full trailer. Then come the TV ads, shorter clips, and the other bits and pieces that arrive in the three weeks or so before the release date. But Netflix laughs in the face of conventional marketing.
