As a longtime fan of Bill Hader (someone who has a wonderful sense of film history, as his intros/outros on TCM\'s "Essentials Jr." makes clear), I hope this vaults him a bit higher in the actor pantheon. Not too high, though -- I\'m currently writing a romantic comedy where I envision him as the leading man, and I don\'t want him to wind up too expensive to hire!

John Cena has been an effective comedic actor for the better part of a decade, most notably as Juliet O\'Hara\'s brother, Ewan. You were also very generous with your scoring here for having such issues with a many \'perfunctory\' aspects of Apatow\'s films. And you also ignore your assertion that Schumer\'s, script through Apatow, offers fresh physical comedy, wordplay, and a focused, warm script.. as if you haven\'t seen a single Apatow movie, literally every one of which relies heavily on physical comedy, wordplay, and a focused, warm script. It seems to me the critic knows this movie is going to get great reviews based on the media\'s nearly universal love of Schumer and Apatow and is too afraid to write an honest opinion on it. However, I find that majority of her standup to be rote, crude variations of, "I was blowing a guy when _____" and "I\'m such a whore because ____", and of course, "guys you don\'t know how bad it is to be a woman until you _____". Hopefully, this movie will be different than her typical, "Have you ever been so drunk you went home with a mullet-wearing guy in a track suit that exposes his hairy chest and gold chains?" hackneyed bits. But if Hader is half as good in this as he was in Skeleton Twins, as the author claims, that alone is worth a watch.
