I had Googled and there is no even ONE word mentioned about thailand in the history of PENCAK SILAT( I meant-sorry miss typing from the previous comment). Pencak Silat is INDONESIAN traditional martial arts not Thailand.

Muy thai: is thailand style. Pencak SILAT: Indonesian style: it is two diffrent country . Its same as you said Kungfu is from US. totaly wrong.

I don't know which google site that led you saying Silat is from Thailand. But silat, an ancient form of martial arts natively from areas that you know now as Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei. It also practiced in parts of Thailand and parts The Philippine. Or should I say, it's an ancient Malay culture. And as Indonesia nowadays covers most of these part of the world, than it could be said it is from Indonesia. Google more if you really care….
