Saw it. The story, characters, and motivation are pretty dumb. The action is terrific, but it's all it has going for it. This reviewer is dead wrong in his praise of the emotional aspects. There was only gore and bullets. The Game of Death premise was fine. It was just everything outside if the premise and action that was boring and awful. I was pining for plot and character development. They had twenty members of the seat team. We only get to know three! And their relationships are never developed. Imagine if this level of action was married to an amazing story with great characters. I wish.

Worth seeing, but these reviewers praising the story telling need to go watch some better action films. It's maybe a 2.5 out of 4 or less. But hype is a powerful motivator for a lot of reviewers.

This film is in my top 5 of films to see in 2012 and if you know all the films that are slated for 2012, you know that's a big deal. All the reviews, including this one, have been nothing but praise. Hopefully, I'm not hyping it up too much for myself but I can't help it. Did the version that screened at Sundance have the new score by the Linkin Park guy? If so how was it? They said the original score wasn't bad in the slightest, but I did prefer the music from the American trailer that featured the new score. Also, you guys failed to list this in your anticipated foreign films piece and indiewire's anticipated Sundance films list...what gives. I'm positive this film will leave the festival with the best overall reviews.
