"a musician who has never acted." Wow, lack of research showing there. Flynn has won awards for his performances at the Old Globe Theatre in London, and has acted in many theaters in the UK. His father was an actor, and Johnny grew up in the theater and as a musician.

And this isn't his first film, either. He's been in several others. The complaints about this film seem oddly misplaced, too. The plot elements you complain about seem totally plausible to me.

Actually Flynn has done some theatre in London, so he has acted before.

Even though the review is heading more towards the negative side, I still want to check this out. I'm a fan of Anne and I think she's a total delight on screen, she has this presence that I enjoy. Plus, this is her first post-Oscar film, my interest has increased.
