I agree with the reviewer. The film left huge questions about how much the ducumentarian may have manipulated the scenes and kids\’ lives, right down to questions as simple as – where did they get their funky clothes and glasses to wear when they walked the streets. How could the kid get held at a psych ward for a few days if he weren\’t deemed an imminent danger to himself or others? Huge unanswered questions.

I completely disagree with this. The director did an amazing, actually spectacular job of finding what was+is essentially an undiscovered enclave of inspired young people held hostage by their circumstances not in some Podunk town but on the island of Manhattan. If anyone thinks they could have told the story better, they should try to find such an unusual situation, cross barriers that have never been crossed, become friends with people who\’ve never ever spoken to anyone outside of their home.. And then make a film that gets into sundance. Just saying, I loved it and I think this is just the beginning of what we\’ll see from these spectacular boys and kind hearted director.

Kate, I echo your feelings here. Definitely a more introspective character slowburn than the fun, energetic tribute to cinema I was expecting.
