Just saw "The Overnighters" at the Full Frame festival in Durham. North Carolina has begun thinking about allowing fracking here. The environmental impacts seem to have made most of the headlines, but this film dramatically shows what some of the societal impacts can be of this kind of "gold rush.

I saw "The Overnighters" at Sundance, and it was my favorite film at the 2014 festival. "It contains much, much more than meets the eye" hits the nail on the head, and I expect it to be recognized at the fest awards this Saturday. Highly recommended!

Hi, I attended the Sundance screening too and couldn't have said it better than your blog. I am still pondering the meaning of the American Dream after watching the film, and I am not sure who I sympathize with the most. I was also fortunate enough to meet Pastor Reinke after the screening, and he said he has no regrets and would do it all over again. What a profound story.
