Are you kidding me? This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Terrible writing, terrible acting and terrible editing. I don\’t understand how so many of you \”reviewers\” are giving this a good grade. This kind of review encourages indie filmmakers to keep making crap. Just because it has a certain name in the credits doesn\’t automatically make it a good film… even if it is at Sundance.

And for everyone who thinks it will be like Shotgun Stories … think again. This film does not have the interesting minor characters to help distract from the slow moving plot. Way too much Shannon in Take Shelter. At least in Shotgun Stories you got a break from his grimace.

A- … ??? … You need to see more movies, man.

Michael Shannon is one of my favorite under-the-radar actors. I loved him in \”Shotgun Stories\” and just about cheer every time I see him in one of his many character actor performances. Much like Christopher Walken, Shannon has the ability, by sheer force of personality and presence, to completely steal a movie simply by showing up.
