With the Twihard world now making Facebook Events (because who circles dates on a paper calendar anymore?) for the newly announced official release date of November 18, 2011 for “Breaking Dawn,” the bigger question remains if the project will still be one or two films.
Deadline Hollywood reports that according to their sources (and the site has been pretty chummy with Summit of late) “Breaking Dawn” will be split into two films with Bill Condon likely to direct both. While the rumors that the film would be in two parts have been kicking around for the months, and seemed pretty much as close to being confirmed as possible, our guess is that nothing official has yet come down the proper channels as (probably very lucrative) deals for all the leads are still being worked out as they are not under contract for a fifth film. So if part one hits on Nov. 18, 2011 our guess is that part two wouldn’t arrive until a year later, allowing Summit to continue making bank off Twilight for at least another fiscal year.
For those of you haven’t read the book, “Breaking Dawn” starts with Bella giving birth to a half-vampire/half-human child named Renesmee who possesses some seriously freaky supernatural qualities, among them, being able to grow faster than mortal humans as well as some kind of special way of communicating (please contain your laughter). We had previously reported that “Benjamin Button”-esque effects will be utilized in depicting the aging process, and audiences will surely overlook the ridiculous nature of the plot, hypnotized by the blank faces of Edward and Bella.
And speaking of Facebook, Bill Condon hit the site earlier this week to Friend Request Twihards with a message explaining his excitement and awe at directing the final installment of the “Twilight” chapter. Maybe if you’re nice, he’ll show up at your next Twilight themed party. Just send him an Event invite.
