I don\’t know how much film companies work together to better the interests of both their films, but since Southpaw is coming out and Weinstein already stated he\’s gonna push Jake for Best Actor, and the fact both films feature Jakes wife getting killed and him spiraling out of control, Demolition just thought it should move so it wouldn\’t impact it\’s box office as much. Maybe? I already think Hateful 8 and Bone Tomahawk are gonna get people confused what with Kurt Russel having the exact same stache and hairstyle in two snowy mountain westerns.

Read the screenplay. I can see why Vallee would want to do it (a chance to show off the protagonist\’s daydreams) but fail to see what attracted Gyllenhaal and Watts. Another Blacklist failure?
