Got a Tip?

Stream Jonny Greenwood’s Score To ‘The Master,’ Plus Listen To ‘Dredd’ Score In Full

nullAlmost as anticipated as Paul Thomas Anderson's 'The Master" in general — and given that only this morning, this writer got a death threat for daring to give the film a 'B,' that's pretty damn anticipated — is the music of the film. 2007's "There Will Be Blood" saw Anderson draft Radiohead member Jonny Greenwood to write the score, and the result was a masterpiece: a dischordant, hugely exciting soundtrack that proved to be one of the most memorable of the century so far. And Greenwood's back for the director's follow up, his brilliant (but in our opinion, flawed) period drama starring Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

The film's in theaters Friday, but if you can't wait, you can now stream the score in full. There is a catch, though — you have to be a user of the music service Spotify in order to hear it. But given that Spotify is free (and pretty comprehensive), your only excuse is really if you're unlucky enough to live in a territory where it's unavailable. In that case, you can buy the thing outright from iTunes. It's not the only score that's made its way online today, though, as the score to the ultra-violent comic-book tale "Dredd," by Paul Leonard-Morgan ("Limitless") has also become available too. It may not surprise that they sound quite, quite different. Listen to both below, and you can catch "The Master" in theaters from Friday, and "Dredd" from September 21st.
