Keep in mind that Terry (Malick) had already been accumulated documentary and narrative footage off and on for the past 3o years as well. / In the current version of the film, there is a shot during the end sequence featuring an extremely old person's hand being held by the mother. Probably echoing earlier moments based upon individuals in these storyboard sketches.
