The weirdest thing about Spielberg doing this project is its loaded with heavy 80s nostalgia & iconography. Including a TON of heavy references to Indiana Jones, Jaws, Close Encounters & almost everything Amblin. It would be weird for Speilberg to directly reference his past work but it would also be glaringly noticeable if a film all about characters in love with 80s pop culture & nostalgia never reference the loads of material Spielberg added to pop culture in that decade. Strange.... Felt like something ripe for Edgar Wright.

It\'s going to be a difficult book to translate. There is a TON of IP that they need to get rights for in order to make it right. And with Zak Penn writing it I\'m less than confident.
