I don\'t really appreciate Spielberg\'s attitude. He first steals Zemeckis\' technology, and then slams Beowulf and Polar Express. As if the dead-eyed creeps that appear in Tin Tin are really a drastic improvement. And using 3D CGI to interpret the artwork of Herge is a slap in the face to the great comic strip. Why not use TRADITIONAL animation and keep the same original artistic style?

The first critics in France and in Belgium are at least enthusiastics ; a few of them are even ecstatics (a journalist compared Spielberg to Tsui Hark, for exemple). It seems that it is the real come back to the eighties for Spielberg and that this \"Tintin\" is the true Indiana Jones 4. It is even more surprising when we know how much sceptical they all were before the first screening.

“85% Animation, 15% Live Action”
this is pretty much true of all films made with motion capture...there is a huge amount of work involved in cleaning the data and then \'fixing\' it...and then reanimating stuff that just doesn\'t work.

this is why there will never be an Oscar for these kinds of performances - don\'t get me wrong, I think Serkis is great, but there are just too many people and processes involved to single out one person or even a small group.
