Fingers crossed for Robopocalypse in spring 2019

Yep, it’s definitely theoretically possible. If The Post wraps principal photography by early August, and with Ready Player One still simmering in postproduction, and The Post probably coming out in December, I could see Spielberg tackling The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara in, say, February-April or so of 2018, all while Indy 5 is in preproduction, then finally turn toward the beginning of shooting Indy 5 in July 2018 for its July 2019 release.

So we’d get The Post this December (guesswork), Ready Player One on March 30, 2018, The Kidnapping of Edgardo Mortara in November/December 2018, probably, and of course finally Indy 5 on July 19, 2019.

And what’s amazing is Spielberg could theoretically go after something else in, say, spring 2019 while Indy is in postproduction, from It’s What I Do to West Side Story to Montezuma to something that just captures him that minute like The Post.

That would be optimal, haha.

Mark Rylance is too old. Daniel Ellsberg was approximately 40 years old during the events of “The Post.”

My pick to play Ellsberg? Matthew Rhys from “The Americans.” A little makeup, a little work on the hair, and he’d actually look a lot like him. “The Americans” is an Amblin property, too, so that would make things extra comfy, one would think.
