You’ve made a good point, CJ, which is absolutely spot-on. I, too, would rather see Steven Spielberg direct a stage version of West Side Story than to even try to re-make another film version of it. A re-make of the 1961 film version of West Side Story would absolutely cut the heart and soul right out of it. Nobody, including Spielberg, could ever be trusted to outdo the original.
