Slotting Chris Pratt into "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" would have done nothing to improve that disaster and would have arguably damaged Pratt going forward, so this idea of a "reboot" does nothing to address the underlying problem: Spielberg lost the magic a loooooong time ago. In fact, Spielberg hasn\’t made A Steven Spielberg Film since "The Color Purple" and has been thrashing about (with occasional bouts of success) since the abomination that was "Hook".

Having Spielberg "reboot" the Indiana Jones franchise might be good for the marketing department, but it is anyone\’s guess whether the film would be improved by his presence as director.
