The producers were concerned Black folks might be offended, but now they can tell the press that Jon White says "its just a movie, stop over thinking things." This looks like great fun, although I’m puzzled that NASCAR allowed themselves to be a prop in a story that exploits negative stereotypes of Southerns. Last I heard, they were trying to expand their appeal beyond their base, not reinforce the caricature that Liberals have painted of them.

Besides, I thought profiling was a bad thing these days, that stereotyping keeps us from appreciating the unique tapestry of our distinctly American cloth! Hmm. Well, so long as the jokes come at the expense of White folks, that’ll be alright… right?

Again, it looks fun, but just a little too contrived.
