The director nails the Asperger's. As a mother of an 11 year old Aspie, I wept through the entire film as the family connections so mirrored my own. Oskar is my son, and his relationship with his father is that of he and my husband. However, the ending left me so connected, as Sandra Bullock so expertly captured the live of our children through times of rejection, sacrifice, and heatache. This movie will stay in my heart for all of my life. And by the way, my son thought it was a great adventure story. Much love for the pure, raw truths of being an Asperger's family.

I absolutely loved the book, and am looking forward to this film. Portraying a young boy with Asperger's syndrome will be very interesting, and I am curious to see how it is done. If there are any parents out there with a child who suffers from Asperger's, I'd recommend checking out the following link, which has some great advice and techniques for coping and building social skills: http://www.onlineceucredit.com/ceus-online/ep-asperger/continuing-education.html
