Happy to say that, ever since first seeing it at the Cinerama Dome during its premiere engagement, that "Barry Lyndon" instantly became what it remains today: the most passionate, the most emotional, the most intellectually probing -- in short, the finest film I have ever seen.

Only made it thru the first 2 minutes of the video. Had to stop b/c the narrator\'s thick accent was too harsh on my ears. My affection for "Barry Lyndon" is such that if it were playing soon at a theater in San Francisco, I\'d be there to watch it for the fifth time with an audience.

A number of douche bags have claimed Barry Lyndon as their favorite Kubrick film to me in the past few years, since it\'s been "cool" to do so. I love the film, but I\'m not enough of a douche to tell anybody else that (except anonymously of course!)

I have seen this movie 4 or 5 times since discovering it about 15 years ago. I could never put my finger on what was so captivating about it. Thank you for pulling back the curtain for the untrained eye and explaining a bit of the magic for me.
