I'm not saying he isn't the winner, but I think the timing is a big part of it. MTV just got in the Where The Wild Things Are business for free. I'm a little skeptical on this (even though I liked the video).

Taylor Swift winning is along those lines too (Kanye is still a bitch though). Beyonce is already on heavy MTV rotation I would assume so why not bring some new "regulars" like Swift into the MTV fold as well, whether it was the best video or not.

I know Much Music (Canada) pretty much gives their awards to which ever US artist agrees to come and/or perform.

The MTV Awards aren't really "Awards". Are they?
