The 1961 film of “West Side Story” won 10 Academy Awards. It is the best musical ever made and one of the best movies ever made. It needs to be remade about as much as “Gone with the Wind” or “Citizen Kane” need to be remade. It is one of the crown jewels of American cinema. No one should ever attempt to make another version.
