How about threaten or kill Qi’Ra, the one person Han really cares about? He doesn’t have to be an active combatant against Han, he just needs to be a shadowy presence in the underworld. His appearance makes sense timing wise, and yeah the casual viewer won’t get it but maybe that convinces them to watch Clone Wars or Rebels.

But they will continue making character centric prequels like BOBA FETT & OBI-WAN. Each will tease a little more of Maul as the center of all non-Empire evil. These movies will then in a Marvel way start tying into one another & overlapping – you got a Young Han Solo in my Obi-Wan prequel – before leading into some Avengers style team-up film where Young Han Solo, Boba Fett, Obi-Wan & other fan favorite characters have to work together to take down Maul. Disney will hope the other prequels will make more money (I think the biggest problem with SOLO is Harrison Ford is Han Solo) & a team-up film connecting multiple films will bring in even more.
This will play out alongside whatever Rian Johnson is doing with Star Wars & maybe whatever the Game of Thrones will be doing.
It will be an excess of Star War.
