In reply to BobbyBarker. Nailed it or not doesn't change the fact he only did it for attention. Anyone remember his name being mentioned much recently until all this? Hell, even Chekov, who started later in the original series and with a lower rank played a more memorable role in the series and especially the movies.

You know how they could’ve had the film making the 50th anniversary?! Make it simpler…like the opposite of having your starship yet again being destroyed and have open war against an unknown species. Hope it’s the last one.

I am pretty sure Takei only did it for the attention. After the sad passing of Leonard Nimoy who was involved in the new movies the door was open for others from the old series. Maybe it is just me but I do not remember there being much attention on Takei and how he felt about the previous two movies. But now the door is open. They are eager to hear what people from the old cast thing and few are saying anything. So now Takei is in the center. Compared to the big three Sulu/Takei was never as big. I think he was petty and his comments weak. He only did it for attention.
