Very disappointed. Independent Film ha. Silver Linings Playbook cost too much money to be included so the powers that be decided they would let it in anyway. Beasts of the Southern Wild is the best film of the year and truly an independent film and it's star QW was the best actress. So much for the organization Film Independent, I'm finished with it.

How can anyone from Silver Linings Playbook get up with a straight face and call their film an indie? It was made for $21 million. You can finance entire seasons of TV with that budget. It isn't an indie film or even in the spirit of indie films. Film Independent needs to rethink what they classify as an indie film.

I can understand the resentment towards SLP. It's barely an independent film and it has the kind of resources at its disposal that the majority of indie films up for the same awards can only dream of.
