While I enjoyed both Kill List and Down Terrace as interesting twists on genre films, I don't necessarily agree with Monsieur Wheatley's sentiments regarding prolific filmmaking equating to making better films: "It's not a coincidence that these guys are really good from making loads and loads of films, that's how you learn". Tarkovsky only directed seven feature films, and three short films at the film school, Béla Tarr only nine features, and everyone is well aware of Malick's previously minimal output. I guess I just saying that I personally appreciate it more when a Director chooses to only put out a film when they're completely invested in the ideas and characters they're expressing.
