I started writing a response that noted my love of Kevin James, John Goodman, and David Spade, but I decided to condense my thesis into the following statement: this author is an idiot. In the style of a truly irrelevant critic, he mentions about a dozen things he hates more than hangnails and offers few explanations for his feelings, an act that gives his more intuitive readers some insight into his presumably depressed mind. And, as if bearing the rampant stupidity of his arguments weren\’t enough, the reader is forced to trudge through four paragraphs of poorly constructed prose. For example, the phrase, \”while the rights holders initially had concerns giving his shows’ sometimes ‘edgy’ material…but they seem to have been overcome by the throwing a ton of cash of them,\” is less than stellar. Mr. Oliver Lyttelton (let\’s hope, for his sake, that he used an alibi), your prose is offensive to both my intellect and my taste in film.

I don\’t get the MacFarlane hate, but a remake of \”The Flintstones\” seems to be a waste of his time. \”The Family Guy\” IS \”The Flintstones\” only without the dinosaurs. And the dinosaurs were never what made it funny.

At best, it sounds like we will just get \”Family Guy\” with dinosaurs. Blehh.

MacFarlane\’s relentless incistence that animation be deprived of genuine pictorial [removed]motionless characters, static backgrounds) perfectly compliments Barbera\’s cheaply animated and visually repetitive and banal series.

Like Barbera, MacFarlane has no love of animation as a visual medium.

His talent has been squandered greatly by producing three shows simultaneously. He hasn\’t been funny since Family Guy came back on the air.

The hate for Seth McFarlane is completely warranted. Family Guy has gotten so bad and it seems like Fox rewards its awfulness by giving him another tv show.

The fact that he thinks he should even attempt to remake The Flintstones just proves he\’s an absolute egotistical asshat. There\’s no defending this. None.

McFarlane never learned to draw from any other perspective than a three-quarter front on. This insistence on keeping all characters at this angle creates a bizarre effect as though they’re staring just past one another. There’s absolutely no sense that these characters are truly engaged in conversation.
The show is composed almost entirely of character’s mouths moving, with the occasional rigid pose-to-pose animation. The movement is banal and devoid of any true expression, with the same exact timing on every motion. For instance, pay careful attention to how the characters’ eyelids are drawn – they’re almost always perfectly straight and covering half the characters’ eyes. This generates a ubiquitous lethargic appearance regardless of the situation. They rarely change to suggest different moods or feelings.
In fact, I have no idea why Seth McFarlane makes cartoons at all. He has no apparent love for visual expression or pictorial creativity. His character designs, shots, backgrounds, and animation are all relentlessly bland. It’s as if he just doesn’t care.

Please NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not the flinstones! I have great memories of that show and i would hate to see it done like family guy. Family guy has become so perverted and disgusting. I mean seriously, my little brothers watch that garbage and it makes me sick! I used to like it, but now all they do is say sick shit and say stuff about people knowing they can\’t be sued. Family guy is going the way of south park and neither should be on television. They\’re cartoons and that makes little kids think it\’s ok for them to watch them. It\’s a shame…..
