If Abrams had said 'like Green Lantern' (which, quality of the film aside, is the best live-action 3D-conversion to date), it would have made sense, but said quote proves that he hasn't seen the 3D Potter or the 3D Green Lantern and is just mentioning the more popular film, ignorant of their actual respective 3D quality. Also, if he's shooting in IMAX, surely he realizes that there is a good chance that the IMAX print will be available in 3D only, meaning that the IMAX footage will also be badly converted to 3D.
