I've read at least half dozen scripts on Scriptshadow where the comic relief wears/dons one of these items (T-shirt that says "I'm with Stupid") as a way to lazily describe the character.

So, just from your description of Scotty (look how interesting my characters are! they wear eccentric shirts!), I think I'll pass.
