The next, belated installment of the “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” vlogs has been released with a particular focus this week on Mary Elizabeth Winstead’s Ramona Flowers and Ellen Wong’s Knives Chau characters and their detailed residences (note to the hair department, Ramona’s coiffure should be dead straight, not wavy).
“We’re shooting Knives bedroom and bathroom and Ramona’s apartment this week, ” announces director Edgar Wright. “Basically we’ve been doing like the big fight scenes and, in between, we try to have a little buffer of some smaller, more intimate scenes in between the craziness.”
In addition, a bonus blog has also been released featuring a number cast members Michael Cera, Alison Pill, Mark Webber, Kieren Culkin, Johnny Simmons and the aforementioned Winstead and Wong as they are watching and plugging the video blogs, squeezing the meta-situation for all it’s comedic worth.
The bonus blog also exhibits the transformations that Winstead and Wong’s characters have undertaken with Wong’s Chau character presumably altering her look to resemble that of Winstead’s Flowers to appeal to Cera’s Pilgrim.
“Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World” is being lined up for a summer 2010 release but the question in our mind is whether audiences will be, or already are, sick of the Michael Cera? “Year One” has only made $40 mil worldwide, half of which was from its opening U.S. weekend.
