Horrible Bosses crossed a $100million domestic ($110 to be exact). Tintin and Hugo will both cross that mark, but passing $100 doesn\’t make it a success.
Personally, more than 50% of movies aren\’t worth seeing so I can live with them being in 3D or smellD, whatever.

This past year or so seems to have the \”middle-market\” movies, those that aren\’t comic book movies nor tentpoles, surging (like Horrible Bosses, Bridesmaids, and more).
I\’m thrilled to see people not biting on Green Lantern and even Thor and Captain America

This is because all these guys remain the experimental visionaries at heart that they\’ve always been, and they see this as an opportunity to create new art.

We film nerds, though, are nothing if not conservative in our tastes, and are blissfully unembarrassed that 70 year old artists are more foreward thinking about the thing they profess to love than we are.

Instead of casually bitching like 12 year olds, couldn\’t we instead say \’well, the tech isn\’t all the way there; the glasses are annoying, etc., but assuming they work that out, this could really offer new creative territory for artists?\”

Yeah, I didn\’t think so either.

the sticking point is the annoying fucking glasses, which are especially annoying when you already wear prescription glasses.

Does anyone see \”Twixt,\” \”Hugo\” or \”Tintin\” being anything other than colossal flops?

Obviously, \”Twixt\” won\’t even make a dent like the other Coppala movies but that trailer for \”Hugo\” look disastrous. I guess \”Tintin\” could be a big international movie but I have a hard time believing it could even make $100 million domestic. Every movie theater of been in when that trailer comes up gets a silent reaction from the crowd or people laughing at how stupid it looks
