I don't even want to get into this payola debate but I HAVE the seen the film, and it is tops. Which is really all that matters, in the end. I can't speak to the Nichols influence but the Cassavetes influence is palpable and real. Good stuff.

I hate to say this when I know the filmmakers will be reading (and chances are the comment below is someone connected to the film), but good lord, posting articles like this just makes me think PAYOLA. I appreciate this movie on an anthropological level, and if it were a free download I'd click on it, but this looks pretty bad. Again, hate saying it like this, but I'm wording it as delicately as possible.

I'm sorry, but I truly like the way this looks and feels, it has a real tone to it, and damn I am so happy they didn't do it in New York. it gives it that feeling of some otherness to it.
