That little description is the final paragraph is not the story at all. The story is far more f*cked up than that. It's so f*cked up and skin crawlingly horrible that it actually becomes a comedy.

The ending of the novel is beautifully tragic. I hope it's in the film. I actually teared up while reading the final paragraphs.

The 'alien' in this movie is supposed to be "the perfect aesthetic form of a mesmerizing woman" in order to lure men. Yet they make Scarlett look all frumpy and unattractive.. i'm puzzled. She looks 100 times more sexy in real life, why not just have had her in her normal every day look? that is waaaay more mezmerizing.
