I found the main thing wrong with the Ghostbusters reboot was that these ‘gifted comedian actresses’ weren’t actually funny. It must have hurt that Chris Hemsworth got all the laughs. I’m a bit undecided on Oceans 8 but will probably go to see it as Sandra Bullock is my favourite actress but I think anyone having the attitude that ‘it’s got a female cast so the sisterhood should want to go see it’ knows nothing about films, or women for that matter.

The heist/con man thing is probably my favorite genre in all of film, and I was a big of the Oceans trilogy (and yeah while ’12’ was clearly the weakest of the three, I still liked it enough). I don’t really care at all about the whole “all female team” thing, that by itself doesn’t remove the interest for me or anything, my problem was more that, going by the trailers at least, they seem to be lifting A LOT of the story beats from the first remake. The head of the crew just getting out from a 5 year prison sentence (they even have it starting the same way, talking to parole board), the reveal that she’s trying to accomplish something personal at the same time of the heist (potentially then endangering the success of the whole thing). Hell they’ve even got the scene of the crew leader with her main righthand man asking the question “Why do you need to do this?”, etc etc…
But trust me nobody would be more thrilled than me to be proven wrong.

Well, no, not “literally”. If they literally walked into a firing squad, then they would, literally, BE DEAD. Ya know, cause of the whole physics of how multiple bullets traveling at high velocity at and then thru your skin would kill you.

“Literally” has got to be consistently the most incorrectly used word in the English language.

Just a question, concerning people saying to “give it a chance”: you do realize that the trailers already give the movie a chance, right? If someone sees a trailer, and thinks it looks like crap, chances are, they won’t see the movie.
