No, don't agree. Wouldn't want to see Winslet as a "sexually repressed young violinist", she'd definately overplay it. How can that voluptious gorgeous woman play Florence. Carey Mulligan is also gorgeous, but her pysique is closer to how I've imagined Florence. She would be able to play girlish, naive and repressed much more convincingly than Winslet. (Doesn't mean I don't LOVE Winslet in other films). Funny, I was thinking about this book the other day, wondering when the adaptation would come. The book is good, I'm really looking forward to this. And Carey Mulligan is perfect for the part. Would be great if she ends up actually doing it. Not at all sure if Mendes should be doing it though. Revolutionary Road was a bit spoiled by the larger-than-life emotions the characters spewed out all the time. I thought it should have been toned down a bit. Just my opinion, though... If Mulligan don't do it, I root for the "new girl", Andrea what's-her-name. Riseborough?

I didn't see his last two films but I want to know if you guys are one of those who praise American Beauty. I found beyond the comedy, the movie to be very very shallow and had too self congragulatory for its supposedly mind blowing world view of "life....you know man?"<br /><br />I was surprised by how much I liked Road to Perdition and Jarhead after that.
