If Ryan gosling only cares about beautiful images he should have become a cinematographer. Leave wiritng and directing up to the people who acTually care about the purpose of films, storytelling. Stories can be surreal and artistic but if the only good thing somebody can say about a film is that there were "nice shots" then you have failed as a filmmaker. Go back to acting dude.

Having seen the movie at Cannes, I can say that it\’s really well shot and really really bad, like extremely bad.

Without bigger stars, the only hope this film had was good reviews. It didn\’t get them. Hence, the straight to video thing makes perfect sense.
