Does that mean we will be treated to another ten minutes of film time watching the cast walking/riding to their destinations?? Yeah, we need more pointless travel scenes to sap any measure of momentum a film has. How about more scenes that would have Chekov spin in his grave like the Troll and Faerie Land ("Chekov's Gun" for those who don't write)? Perhaps more redundance exposition like Ravella's flashback followed up by exposition in the forest with the poison apple. I disagree with Ted's apologist excusing of Sanders. The director made several rookie mistakes that if it weren't for the Twilight afterglow, the film would have bombed. Now that word is out, the question is, will SW&TH make much more than it's budget back? I'm sure Vegas has odds on that....

I wasn't thrilled by Snow White & the Huntsman, but it did meet my threshold of not walking out, so it was mildly entertaining. It's hard to judge Sanders as a director because this was a debut film and it had a massive budget, which probably means the producers were heavily involved in the production and were probably much more important than the director to the film's vision. That said, most of the problems in the film really come from the script and the casting (sorry Kristen, you just aren't that versatile of an actress), which Sanders most likely have little control over. The elements he did have control over seemed to be well done, so I think he has potential. I think we have to see Sanders next (non-Snow White) film before we can judge if he is a talented director or not. I must admit, a sci-fi update of Algiers is an enticing idea.
