Spider-man came out back in 2002, a full decade before Avengers. The days of $140million superhero movies are over.

Even with modest pay, there is still enough talent grouped together that the total salaries will at least match those on Battleship, Star Trek 2. Spider-man 2 cost $200 and came out only 2 years after #1, so that couldn\’t be all due to salaries.
