I normally wouldn\’t put it past Lucas to do something like this, but here\’s a quote I included in my response to Smith\’s claim, over at Spout:

“It’s something we are trying to stop happening, although you can’t stop technology and you can’t stop change…A computer can duplicate Tom Hanks, for example, and we already use that technology a little for stunts and difficult scenes. But if you bring back Marilyn Monroe, what you would have is a caricature.”

First we see mainstream cinema focusing on Remakes. Now Lucas may propose that we not only Remake old films, but we can Remake old actors as well. How do we do the voices? How will the Remade actors be driven, by animators, or by an actor doing motion capture. Either way, you cannot recreate the performance, only the image of the actor. Let\’s get Jack Black to do the MO Cap on Orson Welles and Miley Cyrus can MOCAP Stanwyck. Sure…that\’ll work. Thanks Lucas for more Mediocre ideas. Just focus on the Clone Wars cartoon show you\’re doing…that\’s about as much as it seems you can handle.
