I\’m not outraged that Criterion picked her feature for inclusion. To each his own. There are many films that Criterion have chosen in recent years that don\’t work for me. I just think she\’s a terribly overrated filmmaker. Now go ahead and bring on the \”you think you can do better?\” argument that always attempts to shut up anyone with a critical eye on your prized pig, but fact of the matter is her debut rubbed people the wrong way and seemed to get a pass from many sources without drawing attention to some glaring deficiencies. That being said, as I said before, to each his own.

I do find it funny how Lena Dunham has become this hate-figure among the Criterion snobs, who are AGHAST that a DVD label has dared to besmirch its name by releasing a film they didn\’t enjoy. Criterion slaves are about the worst type of film fan around.
